The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

He's 70 years old and has been looking somewhat frail of late. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt there.
He has? Don't think anybody has seen him have they! Surely he ought to be passing the mantle on to somebody else if he's not capable of doing his job. Time to go Bill, for the good of everybody, yourself included.

Stop being silly. Kenwright and co. should lower their asking price and just leave.

As a businessman it's extremely difficult to undersale your stake...just not in their nature, I'm afraid.

But even assuming Kenwright and the other stakeholders are Evertonians first, businessmen second: they know by underselling the club they'd attract a certain calibre of buyer, which they may not see as being healthy for our club.

I'm staying on the fence for now and will see if we manage a decent net spend after the window closes.

He should lower it - as without a new stadium - our ability to compete will decline and then the value will be forced down in any event.

Its not rocket science.

Looked a wee bit frailer than usual on the telly.
If his health has been deteriorating, as indeed it had with the scare then perhaps they've accelerated the search for new ownership.

It's been 16 years. I get being reluctant to knee jerk but surely you can at least make some preliminary conclusions on his reign so far?

@davek will confirm that I'm no Kenwronger.

However, that Elstone article was as far as I am concerned like having someone wave a red flag in my face.

I'm of the conclusion that if they do not make progress and we have a real plan for X to be sorted by Y date within 6 months they have to go. By that I mean if there is no fixed date for Everton to be playing in front of a 50 - 55k crowd by Y date. That will be it for me.

Its that simple in my mind now.

Agree with that too. Alone our lack of Europe next season will hurt our valuation, as we won't be able to bring in any marketable players, as well as losing out on extra gate receipts/worldwide TV money.

Aye...in that I largely agree with how most of yous see things, but it's difficult to get off a comfy sofa if you've been sitting in it for 16 years. You might strain your back and the sofa will get cold. Things will come to a head soon, let's just hope all these years of cautious searching will pay dividends and we don't end up in the hands of some cowboys.

Europa league brings in only a negligible net income.

The stadium is the only main way we can game change Everton.

Elstone's comments this week were a disgrace and were entirely untruthful.

Agreed.

You're assuming the spambottom you're replying to gives a flying one about the club though

Part of the anti-dholliday clique, I see. Haven't seen you round here before. Hope they trained you well.

Any thoughts on World War 2 whilst you're at it? Apologies if it's too soon to make a judgement on the whole thing.

Make a thread in the Ale House if you wanna discuss WW2. It's a massive subject so think about which angle you wanna cover.

So its agreed then. Elstone's comments were a disgrace and if this board don't get their arses in gear on the stadium within 6 months they have to go by any means necessary.

Glad we could agree.

6 years ago they had to go.

We as a fanbase are a bunch of utter victims.

We basically bend over and allow this current board to ram us, without lube, then complain that it hurts all the way through instead of just making it stop. We are all Bills booty call.
