The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

It's 350k in total under "emoluments" so might be for one, or split between more of them. Just can't see Kenwright, Carter or Woods taking a salary or charging fees

I'd guess it's fees for services rather than a salary, but it'd be interesting to know what it was for and who took the cash.
In principle I'm not against directors taking money out of the club, but only if they're doing something which is generating more for the club than they're taking out.

Having said that, assuming it's Earl, it's hard to see a justification for it.

You give Bill far to much credit.

Can I ask you to post some text rather than simply linking to other sites please.
Yes : I feel there is a groundswell of opinion from other sites articulating the feeling of many here : the board is ineffectual, rudderless, impotent and ossified. Other opinions articulate them better than I could, but I will desist if you wish it.

To be honest i read it and apart from thinking it was badly written, it just seemed to waffle a fair bit and repeat the same thing over and over. I am certainly no Kenwright fan but that article has done nothing to make me feel aggrieved etc that he is still in charge. It brings no new information to light and is a poorly written essay with which i have seen better attempts on this website.

Don't get me wrong its good that people are trying to raise more awareness with regards to the boards ineffectiveness, i just don't see articles like the above doing much for the casual fan goer or those on the cusp of being fed up with Kenwright.

Just a thought - should we not be looking at pre season matches in the likes of Qatar and UAE . If the people out there saw the passion behind this club surely someone would throw some money at it and get rid of clowns supposedly running our great club !

I read somewhere (can't remember, sorry, but it was a newspaper survey of clubs non-playing costs) that in the last year Everton started paying directors for the first time. The lag means these won't show in accounts till next year maybe.

Now I don't think they're paying dividends, so these are directors fees / salaries etc.

Bearing in mind Blue Bill has always said he's looking for investment, not a buyer, it makes sense. If I invest my hard earned (okay in my case, ill-gotten gains) into a business, I want to extract a return.

Given the new broadcast revenues, the continuation of the Vibrac short-term facility makes zero sense. Unless it is a mechanism of making money off the club.

Seems while we demand 110% on the pitch, off the pitch, Bill's "Friends of Everton" are demanding a lot more.

Yikes we're lucky the Nazis aren't still around and wealthy as people might be suggesting we whore ourselves to them. Two terrible countries for human rights and I'd rather we had nothing to do with either.

FYI - FIFA introduced a new rule this year. All agents and intermediate parties involved in player transfer deals must have there name and details published with respect to the player transfer !

does anyone know for certain that a company or individual has expressed an interest in buying or investing in the club but has been turned away or fobbed off?

Chris Samuelson & the FSF

The NTL investment deal

The man in a bedsit & the man from ICI

All have been spoken about by Kenwright himself.

so nothing of any substance then. was just wondering because ive often heard supporters of the board say if real investors were interested they would have come out and said if kenwright and co have turned them away.
