The Everton Board Thread 2014/15

Is it time for change?

  • I'm happy with the way thing are. Kenwright and the Board should stay.

  • Kenwright and the board need to go. We need change.

That's quite a claim - where is the evidence?

This is just a quick Google

1. The Villa fans know and claim he's been charging management fees

2. Management fees were reported in 2013; his company he's been charging interest on the loans he gave them also - to the company 'Reform Acquisitions'

3. Management fees at £7.7 Million PER SEASON were reported in 2010; where he withdrew 15% of the then revenue for that season.

Theres more. Its very well known he's been making money out of Aston Villa.

Ah apologies - I thought you meant Bill Kenwright

Well if I was a forensic accountant I would be looking for management fees and other types of fees for where Everton's money is going.

It is unforgivable we are not making real progress on the stadium.

I wouldn't trust Elstone or Kenwright with a lego set. Joke.

Didn't Lerner write off £115m for Villa

No.

It was a loan for equity swap. Meaning he got more shares and arguably was in a better position to charge more management fees and have a bigger share of any revenues with all the debt he'd saddled them with.

It was a vicious circle. A race to the bottom.

You only should take finance to build infrastructure. The rest of it is just a waste. Or a scam. In my view Aston Villa was a scam.

I'm of the increasing view Everton is being treated the same way.

Its totally in excusable that Everton seemingly 'can't afford' a stadium. Infact its nonsense really. Someones trying to insult our intelligence

What has really changed?
Can someone tell me what has changed since Lerner took over? And when telling me, forget about the training facility - Ellis had already started the project and what we've ended up with is on a par with the likes of Blackburn and Bolton.

Also, don't tell me about the pub or the money spent - the club is in more debt today than it ever has been. Take away the debt and money lent to the club for new players and what you actually see is an owner that took out in management fees in one year than the previous major shareholder took out ... ever.

I am beginning to quiz precisely where Everton's money is going given the lack of progress on the Stadium.

When the fact is financial regulatory requirements - mean we have no other option BUT to spend it on stadia/infrastructure.

@the esk @davek

As you can see I'm very upset with Robert Elstone and Bill Kenwright.

That ECHO article was an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE.

They've had 12 months and got precisely no where. Infact they've gone backwards on the stadium despite knowing they're getting another £100million in additional revenues on the new tv money on top of the last one. Its a joke.

How does that work though when he owned the club outright anyway, isn't he essentially just writing off debts in that case?

Didn't Lerner write off £115m for Villa
Not sure mate.
Pretty sure he swapped some debt for equity fairly recently though.

If Villa gets sold for ~150million with any remaining debt bought out then it sets a precedent for sales of clubs in much the same boat, err, like Everton.

It's way too bit simplistic, but

Everton Value = 150 million - ( Everton debt - Villa debt) - price of a new stadium + (price of upgrading Villa Park to same as a new stadium for us )

wouldn't be too far out, though I suspect I may have got my plusses and minuses screwed up somewhere !
