I've seen various references to this, it seems something that may have a ring of truth about it.

The clubs value should increase over the coming years and it's a convenient way of repaying some of the cash due from the 777 loan.

They didn't reject them. They never rejected 777 either. They posed questions they couldn't really answer. They asked their new owners to prove it's not the state running the club and wanted an actual chairman running day to day.

Once Johnson got a back hander to ask the league again, there was a huge blackout of televised matches in Saudi as the state clamped down on running their own illegal streams.

I think they then struck an agreement with Qatar and BeIn Sport.

Sorry my bad, poorly articulated post. Yes I didn’t mean reject them, as there is no process for there, just a series of tests / questions that the would be buyer would have to pass / answer.
