I've been saying this for year.

Really happy to finally be proven correct.

@Moomin
@davek
@chicoazul
And one or two of those supposed moderator chaps.

Always knew it.

How much do you gents get paid?
As agent for each of the above, I can tell you each is paid according to their worth, this would take in the number of posts and also response level to each. Although I can't go into the financial details, before his recent fall out with Mr Musk, @chicoazul was topping six figures, for his posts here, twitter, toffeeweb, RAWK, Swingers UK and Mumsnet. This could be more but he has a separate agent for Facebook and FetLife.

Things seem to have deteriorated quite quickly at Roma, at least as far as their ultras are concerned.

It's mildly concerning.

As we've seen here, it isn't enough to put money in, it's what you do with it. Player recruitment seems to be an issue but they have put in a new DoF this year.

I did think their summer business was again quite underwhelming, the squad seems to be set up to thread water in 6th and not push on.

Let's hope there are lessons learned.

Would love to tread water in 6th for a bit.

Hasn’t been there 5 years yet. I don’t know anything about their finances etc but it may have needed a period to stabilise etc?

Me too of course, but then the starting point of both clubs in the respective leagues are not comparable, and nor are the leagues themselves.
With what they've spent, more initially than recently, I'd be disappointed if I were Friedkin that they haven't had a couple of top four finishes at least.

Spend any bit of money in Serie A and you should be looking at a crack at the title - you have Juve, Inter and the others but they are not super-clubs of the type we have in the Premier League. They are there to be got at.

Their fans are only unhappy because they sacked de Rossi. I think they were quite content before that.

I think the worry that the Roma fans may have is that they are no longer top of the tree in the TFG club stable.
The TFG actions in recent months may have cemented that feeling and there may be some truth in it as I have no doubt that the deal of hundreds of millions involved in buying Everton has taken most of their attention and probably finances as well.

I don't think we can over estimate the importance of BMD to Everton with regard to buying the club and the future of the club and the potential it has to generate extra money.

The costs of building and developing the ground are largely known by now. It is unlikely from this point onwards there will be massive over runs given that the ground is largely finished apart from some elements of the fit out.

The cost of a new development for Roma is unknown and would certainly be more expensive than BMD . It could be bad news for Everton in the future if this project is undertaken as it in turn will hoover up time and money from TFG.

It’s not concerning to me in the slightest to be honest. The only concern I have currently is that Farhad Moshiri still owns this club as it stands and that will continue to be a concern until this takeover is formally finalised.

£66m isn't the full settlement. There are, allegedly, other aspects to the agreed deal which include a future 10% stake in the club.

They have the potential to get back all of their money (possibly more) but not for at least 7 years.
fair enough

yeah i dont quite understand it thats why i said said online haha, i certainly dont have a clue how it all works

I agree. But there is nothing to stop Everton being worth £1 billion possibly £2 billion in value in 7 years time. It has been criminally mismanaged as a business. Which is why Friedkins are interested now as there is significant asset growth potential.
So they may never want to give up their 9.99% holding or whatever it is, which is fine I guess for all parties involved as they would never get a say in how the club is being ran?

Roma wasn’t built in a day.

I would say that its only concerning if you view the ultras as rational reasonable people who have a good grasp of things.

Crazy people being upset is not a new thing in this world, nor worth paying attention to by anyone making decisions. If the ultras have a history of being wise about things thats one thing. Im doubting they do...
