This lot don’t seem amazing and have made a dog’s dinner of Roma. But they are solvent, not being actively pursued for money laundering etc and they aren’t on the brink of financial collapse.

Which is progress, and the best option we have open to us.

I'd take their dogs dinner mate.

A trophy, and massive investment to stabilize.

Think their mistake at Roma was hiring Mourinho, who one day you have to sack. That's never going to be popular.

Their second mistake was hiring a club legend, who again, one day you have to sack. That's never going to be popular.

x10 that in Italy.

Trying to make popular appointments and appease fans there can have tail wagging the dog.

Ranieri, club legend but at least when he goes it'll likely be retirement.

I doubt if anyone senior and earning six figures + is going to be asked reapply for their jobs. If TFG decide to move any of those out, it would be on mutually agreed, handshake terms I would assume.

Their initial statement when assuming control at Roma did confirm they had accepted the resignations of some indivuduals.

And for middle and junior staff then making those folk reapply isn't going to change the dial on strategy and performance, so you'd question if it was worthwhile.

I'm all for change from the top down because that's where our issues have been, not from the bottom up where they have not, at least in a business and financial sense.
I think the top leaders usually get the "we've decided to go in a differnet direction" conversation. Those below management level get a P45.

Lots of clubs go through managers that don't work out. We've seen Spurs go through Jose, Conte, Nuno, and now Ange is in dodgy territory if you ask me.

It can be fine if TFG learn from their mistakes, and more importantly, trust the people they appoint to make the football decisions. If they're gonna meddle, and then still blame the manager(s) regardless, and carry on ploughing through them, then that's the time to worry, because that's basically what our owner has done here. I think it's perhaps unfair or premature to say they might be the same erratic type as Moshiri just yet.

Sometimes you've just got to sack people, especially if you see it as a gamble between finishing 10th or qualifying for Europe. They're not worried about relegation, so feel like they can take their chances. Saying that though, it's not great for the finances I suppose.

Obviously they bungled things a little at roma recently but in the grand scheme of things compared to the perpetual chaos at Everton over the moshiri years it's a temporary blip. They were able to continue top six placement for the club, won a trophy and had to two additional cup finals , also roma is very difficult environment to please all parties and thrive. The Roma fanbase is known to be incredibly parsnickety with so many niche factors in place you wouldn't encounter at other clubs so for them to bring stability to the finances is what Everton fans should be looking at in my opinion along with the fact they seem to actually invest in the club and squad

I guess Ranieri will take on a consultant role within the club after this season

Oh so would I. Compared to Textor? Compared to 777, it’s a no brainer.
Still reservations, but it’s night and day
