The Illicit Power of Our Overpaid and Underachieving Players

Oh my god are people still going on about injuries? We’ve just been beaten comfortably by Norwich City who have a player called Grant Hanley in their team and get relegated on purpose to rack up parachute payments.
Can Grant Hanley play the holding midfield role? Sign him up.

Here @davek your Sunday outfit is ready

He had Richarlison on the bench who was fit enough to come on and score, he also had Townsend on the bench who scored in our last game, and he started Salomon Rondon.
One player I’ll be happy to see the back of when the new guy comes in, makes the likes of Barlow and Angell look like they were competent back in the day

Doesn;t matter what tactics were adopted they would have been ignored.

He had one chance: get through to the summer and replace the bulk of the first team squad with his own players he could trust.

That would never work and I wouldn't trust him to bring in a bulk of his own players. He would never build a squad or team that were good enough due to his ineptitude.

Here's some more.....He made 1 sub away to Brentford when we were 1 down and had 70% of the ball.

Last night he didn't use his 3rd sub when he had 2 attackers on the bench when we were looking for a goal.

It's these things that matter

Played him as an kin' number 10!!!!! Not even a proper 4.4.2.

He did the same when we all thought he went 3 in midfield for Palace...but played Gomes as a 10.

His own Tactical Genius.

We should be comfortably mid table, the players are no world beaters but they’re nowhere near this bad. Just going 3 in midfield more often, sorting out defending corners and less rondon and we’d be a few points better off alone

Win two games in hand and we are 11th. It’s not as bad as it seems. People obsessed with three in midfield. Lots of teams play with a 2 vs 3 in midfield. We are not blessed with central midfielders. And we have players who have made big errors that have cost us points.

Best tactician in the world cannot change Keane vs Norwich, Coleman vs Liverpool, Godfrey vs Wolves, Keane vs Brighton, Townsend vs Brentford etc.

This is what is most fearful about any manager we have now. The players just cannot follow instructions. They can’t avoid making crippling individual errors every game. It’s been almost 12 months of it now, and apart from a small period under Ancelotti, this issue goes back for years.

How must any manager feel when you work on something all week in training and then Keane kicks one in his net and Coleman is teeing up opposition strikers and barely anyone is running in midfield. It’s happened far too many times. There’s a rotting core of players at Everton and then there’s some very weak players who choose to completely switch off when it suits them. People can moan about tactics all they want but Docuoure and Gomes were a disgrace yesterday, the pair of them hardly moved and couldn’t pick a forward pass between them. They’re presumably not performing like that in training. It’s just rank inconsistency, rank mentality and it’s been going on for years.

What gives you the confidence to think we'll win those 2 games in hand?

We can't even beat bloody Norwich, when the stakes are very high.

….the Brentford game was symbolic, crosses flying across the box yet he left a lumbering CF on the pitch whilst two young, sharp, hungry and bright youngsters on the bench. I’m sure one of them would have got on the end of something.

Nothing to do with injuries, we were superior to Brentford. That defeat was because of Benitez.

The players endured the wrath of supporters, Benitez scurried down the tunnel which is a mark of the man.

Don’t play Keane, force him out the club, play Branithwaigh(spelling) and Godfrey kept Digne and played him and Patterson

Richarlison, DCL, Mina coming back from injury and we have not had them for lots of the poor form recently.

The opposite is true also, 4 points from Arsenal and Chelsea, we can play well in big games. Losing to Norwich does not make us the worst team in the league. When you make big mistakes like Keane does early in a game, it does not matter how well you prepare.

He has to be forced out. Anyone with a brain at Everton should be saying to the new manager that he needs to manage him out of the club and tell his agent that he’s leaving in the summer. He’s the rotting core of this team.

What the hell is this? Here’s another pointless what if for you - if bottom of the table Burnley win their two games in hand over us, they’re 2 points behind us.
