Well exactly, and just how do we determine "identity" and a sense of "the self" in an increasingly globalised world? Let's look at China: Is there something to be said for a "closed society" in the 21st century?

The only I can offer is hogwash satire and transparent antagonism.

We best start getting used to China. This duopoly of world power will peel back to their monopoly in time. Their authoritarian control giving them an edge over the freedom of liberal democracies. Will be interesting to see how Chinese people determine where the line is over time.
