Great post on twitter sums up the idea of Moyes coming back : Would be fitting for a club stuck as a relic from a bygone era to be fair. Meanwhile clubs like Bournemouth think outside of the box with a young, progressive manager and actually try and evolve. Yet our fans wonder why it’s always groundhog day. Find the guy Moyes was 22 years ago not the guy he is now.

favourite based on being past manager

nothing to see here
His league performances with West Ham were very good and he also won a European competition. He is one of the best managers out of work at the moment.

I doubt we have the money to sack Dyche and bring in someone desirable under contract. You could go for a left field candidate, but the risk would be massive.

True - Newcastle were rubbish under Bobby Robson. They were much better when they forced him out for a younger candidate.

It's not always the case it doesn't work out though is it. Ancelotti is doing great at real Madrid second time round. Some clubs are just a perfect fit with certain clubs and Moyes is that with us I believe
I watched Real play Stuttgart last night, it was not great from Real only two late goals gave them the expected win even with all their resources, Don Carlo is still the best coach, but slow to get Real into top gear this season.

Moyes did well in the league with us probably over achieving with his 4-5-1 but somewhat eschewed by the lack of good cup runs.

I don't think he will suit us anymore with the ambitions of new ownership in a new stadium.

i’m not disputing how he was at west ham mate

it’s just make belief rumours

when we sack dyche
who ever it is will have their own choice

that textor says we have money

and even if we don’t we don’t lash
5 mill at SD in one go

that will be sorted

I'm gonna bite.

I think in an ideal world we would be finding the guy who Moyes was 22 years ago.

My ideal candidate would be someone of that ilk.
But they cost money. And lots of it. As well as need structure, processes, foundations so they can survive sticky periods.

We have none.

Therefore we are faced with the reality of either sticking with Dyche or getting someone in who will work in the current conditions bestowed upon them.

Let's have it abundantly clear. Moyes is not the long term answer. But he is a better option and the current candidate and possibly our only real attainable one considering the situation the club is in.

It will cost more money to hire Moyes and his multiple backroom team than it does with Dyche. Have a look at how much some other PL managers are on, you will get a surprise I think. I don't see either of the prospective new owners wanting someone like Moyes.
