The obsession with Broja

He might be available on loan, and we are desperate.

I think most people are just fed up of having to watch Rondon slug his way around the pitch. Any alternative will do at this point.

Get it done, Everton.

Someone said he was good which then snowballed into what we see today. I’ve advocated his signing multiple times when I didn’t know who he was until we were linked and I’ve never seen him play.

If imagine many others are similar

I thought he looked decent in the very few Southampton games I saw. Good raw materials.

It definitely feels like we're waiting for something. Even Everton couldn't watch big SolRon and think "we'll go with what we've got".

Beyond that, there's the Lampard/Chelsea connection and the assumption throughout this window that we'll get someone from there.

….not sure there’s an obsession, there’s an assumption that the delay in bringing in a forward is because we are waiting on Chelsea releasing Broja.

I’d change the thread title to;

’The Obsession with a Striker’.
It is obsession, his name is mention thousands of time in Gordon thread.

I just don’t get it when they complain about end product and in the same sentence hoping we will sign Borja.

Please help me understand which part of his game guarantee 10 goals and where will he play when DCL is fit?

And therein lies the problem, there's huge expectation on a young player that the majority know nothing about, brought about by pure desperation for anyone that isn't Rondon.

I already feel sorry for him.

It appears to stem from Lampards high opinion of him, having worked with him before and given him his Chelsea debut.

Managers love to return to their old clubs, and leaving that aside, the relationship with Chelsea is well established.

We'd have been linked with him regardless but it does seem it's genuine here and Frank prepared to wait to get him on loan.

It's stretching it to say he is a panacea for our problems but he'd need to chip in with 10-12 goals and we have to hope another forward could also be signed and contribute another 10 or so. That's a modest expectation and with that, it's still hard to see where other goals are coming from.

We need about 50 league goals I think.

There is a report on him that states that one of his key strengths is running up the pitch with or without the ball. It is safe to say that is all our tranfer consultants needed to know.

If we can sell Gordon and walk away with a striker and a smaller bag of cash then there’s less chance of us being mugged by another club for a striker. Plus if Broja is a rival for DCL then maybe a high price sale of one of them next season could be a possibility..
