Anyone been watching this? I couldnt wait till it was out over here so been downloading it.

Awesome really. Thought Band of Brothers was going to be hard to beat, but this is just brilliant stuff!

I've already watched the first 5 episodes. Great series. Makes any American proud to be an American.

Science knows more about Space than it does about what goes on at the bottom of the oceans.

And more about lack of funding than either deep space or deep oceans, it's sadly more about a serch for deep pockets. Now if there was oil in them thar trenches .....

I haven't got round to watching it yet, had it recorded on the sky box for over a week now..

Me too. Was going to let a couple stack up just in case I start watching it and really get addicted. Just make sure you press the 'keep' button...lolo

Ive got SKY but not the movies so havent seen it. Will wait for the DVD experience me thinks. Loved Band of Brothers.

I watched Band of Brothers before the Pacific came on last month and The Pacific is decent but its defo no BoB.

SPOILERS:

I don't think it has been as good as I expected it to be. A couple episodes annoyed me. The Guadalcanal episode showed a battle then the episode wrapped up with a narrator saying how they slugged it out for almost a month after that battle and the US finally took the island with no mention how they did it. Also the Australia one where the girl with Leckey who has a 1 year relationship with and at the end of the episode she just dumps him because he's leaving for war (as if she didn't know). So the the next episode he's writing to the girl back home he wants to screw again even though I'm assuming he didn't write to her in a year.

Same format as Band of Brothers but a completely different feel and story. The Pacific is far grittier and depressing - a fair representation of what it must have been like to have gone "island hopping" with the Marines in WWII. Great stuff so far.
