I went to watch it the other day and as a massive Simpsons fan I really wanted to like it- but I didnt! It was really tame- there is a few bits where you do laugh but overall I left feeling really disappointed.

Would have actually been better to stay in and watch 3 episodes for free.

Highlights- spider pig, harry plopper which if you've seen it involve the same 'prop'

Anyone else seen it?

yes, and i too was not impressed.

homers life in alaska i found amusing.

there were a couple of risque moments - ralph ' i like boys now' - otto on the bong.

the simpsons has lost its way, when they gave the good writers the 'heave-ho' (the ones that have gone on to write family guy) it stopped being funny, satirical, cutting, intelligent.

oh, and flanders quip about 'praying through the knees' wasnt in the best taste.

pop quiz mick, do you recognise the voice of the guy that was the baddie from any previous simpsons episodes?

Aye I've seen it. It wasn't as good as I was expecting but I still quite liked it. The storyline was a bit lame but I found it funny and pretty decent entertainment. Thankfully I'd not seen that many trailers for it so I hadn't seen many of the gags before.

I did recognise the voice- was it scorpio?

my son saw it the other day and said it wasn't that funny, but he kept going on about some 'Spider Pigs'.

hated that joke, harry plopper didnt cut it either.

go watch 'homer the heretic' and enjoy the halcyon days of prime simpsons writing.

theres my thinking that it was the best part of the film apart from the code black lenny and carl part. just a funny ring tone i thought.

that was a touch risque as well. its a pg film, which makes it less than a '12'.

otto hitting the bong.

ralph wiggum proclaiming his 'liking boys' now.

its not clever, its base, appealing to the lowest common denominator.

the simpsons has lost its way.

there were a few visual gags, but nothing like the cutting satire of long ago.

fawlty towers was stopped before it got too long in the tooth, sadly, the simpsons popularity from yesteryear has proved to be its undoing.
