little curly alan ball

Player Valuation: £70m
First album 20 th - Jesus - anniversary immnent .
The hype , Greatest Debut Album Ever , along with The Clash ,
could well be said to be fact .
I went to Spike Island , which was , " an experience . "
However , for sheer kick arse tight , fuk off tunes , played to the maximum of effort , and lo-o-o-o-ong encores , it has to be ,
The Royal Court , Second Coming Tour . 94/95 . October / November , as I recall .
One of the top 3 gigs I've ever seen . I've been to a lot .

So , the Roses , likey or no - likey ???

The Jam, The Stone Roses, Oasis.

My three favourite bands, in that order (y)

Awesome album, probably my most played album ever. If I'm ever asked what my favourite song is I always go for I Am The Resurrection. As near to perfect as music gets imo.

The Stone Roses are a product of the era they came out of . Ive always said that if they came out now they would be laughed out of town . Ian Brown should be on his bended knees every morning of everyday he wakes for the solo career he now enjoys is down to the musical & productional talent that was behind him during his time in the Roses .

Ian brown live nowadays live is a painful experience . He is a style icon for a generation of lads who continue to buy his music which production wise is solid . This is his saving grace . Brown is a glorified Karaoke singer at best even with the best production minds behind him . But I salute him for taking his chance and making it work .Ian Brown is a true hustler inevery sense of the word

Live , when they fancied it , they were the bollox .
Loved and saw the Jam . These were better live . Not loads , but enough .
The Clash are my top band , and I saw them at Eric's in '78 and it's still my top gig , but that Royal Court night was right , right up there .
Perhaps the greatest exhibition of guitar playing that I've ever witnessed .

Hell of an album..but there just wasnt enough after that to justify a "greatest band ever" tag 2nd coming was good but they where a train wreck by that point and fell apart soon after..

For me they are granted "the what couldve been" tag becuase they could have turned into something special as it is a good solid band with one classic album behind them.

Cant say Id remember any of their songs.

Links please for the youngsters LCAB!

And BTW too much rock on this forum. Need more real music ie: Techno

Best guitar playing i ever seen was Led Zepellin at Knebworth in 1979. I'm not saying its the best ever but its the best Ive seen live. I'm not mad on the Roses to be honest but love the Clash.
