Remember when Martinez won a more prestigious trophy than that and then got relegated?

How is the FA Cup more prestigous in Germany then their version of the FA Cup? Moronic comment.

Also, it's not like Dortmund are the best team in the league is it? They're up against Bayern. Klopp guided Dortmund to success in a period when Bayern were far from at their best.

Tuchel's a good manager. He fell out with the board about the club been open to selling their best players. He wasn't happy with losing the likes of Hummels.

The worry would be defensively, he maybe is a bit slack. Not Martinez levels, but attacking football is his priority.

He's certainly a good manager.

I think on the BBC European Football Show Podcast, Raphael Honigstein said that two of the Bayern board members could not agree on who to appoint. One wanted Tuchel and then the other didn't but i think they said the Hoffenheim manager most likely at the end of the season.

Yeah I listen to that and that was the basis of it , Or i think it was one wanted him and a couple wanted the Hoffenheim fella so they decided to see how he did this season to ensure it wasn’t a flash in the pan .

It certainly seems as if Tuchel is rated by at least some influential and respected people in Germany .

He’d get on great with our board then. Klopp is vastly superior, the fact that he managed Dortmund then walked out on them makes people think he’s this great name, doesn’t wash with me one iota.

Klopp is a better manager I think, but not 'vastly'.

D'you know why Klopp walked out?

It's because in his final season they were in the bottom three until the winter break. They finally got it together and finished 7th, which is when Tuchel took over.

Good afternoon NewMangerGoatFrandel, who are you backing for the big job?

Struggling to look past Tommy T currently Van Orly Hassen Frandelino.

I realise hes very much pie in the sky, but nobody else peaks my interest atm, of course other names will enter the fray, but from the names mentioned the only 2 I would have are Tommy T and Unsworth, I would honestly give the job to Duncan than appoint some utter shitter like Dyche or Howe.

Every manager? Nope just one vastly overrated manager who’s walked out on every club he’s ever managed.

He had five years at Mainz and established them as a Bundesliga side - ' he finished his Mainz career with a record of 72 wins, 46 draws, and 64 losses.[11] Tuchel later said of his decision to leave the club: "I couldn’t see how we could reinvent ourselves once more the coming summer." '

Then he went to Dortmund. Which as I've just been through he left because he didn't believe a club wanting to challenge in Europe and domestically should be open to selling their best players.

Also, he wasn't happy with the lack of support the board offered after the coach bombing.

You seem to be picking faults where there aren't any mate.

Defensively, he isn't great. That'd be the risk - and whether he could adapt to Prem football.

Think we’re living in a cloud cuckoo land if we think he’s going to want to join us. He’s suposedly interested in the Bayern job after Heynckes retires. I’m sure other big clubs have him o their radar as well.

Not really sure what we offer beyond a big pay cheque.

How is Klopp much better, Tuchels first season at Dortmund he got more points than when Klopp first won the league - just that Bayern the last few years are far far better than they where when Klopp won the league.

He won the cup at first time of asking, Klopp failed how many cups in a row now - 5 or 6?

Klopp got Mainz promoted, then relegated, then failed to gain promotion, Tuchel kept them mid table to top 5 and qualified for Europe

Klopp finished out the top 4 on three occasions in 7 seasons at Dortmund including 7th his last season, Tuchel finished 2nd and 3rd in two seasons.
