Ok boys and girls im over this thursday for the match, the last time i was over for a thursday game was zenith 2 years ago( had money on timmy 1-0 by the way(y)), just wondering given that its bonfire night is there anything special on in town that night, think the zenith game was around the same time and everyone out was wearing fancy dress, except me and me mate, stood out like a sore thumb as the out of towners. Any recomendations or info would be appreciated(we are staying in an apartment beside dreamers so im sure we,ll find something to do but id rather not pay for it:))

Effigies of Chico will be burnt all over the city with kids attaching photographic copies of his gob to every one. Goat will take to the field at half time when people will pay to try and hit his arse with a rocket from outside the penalty area at the Park End, Vim will be selling baked potato's having purloined the spuds from a field in Thornton and of course Sharpy will be serving bleach from his mop bucket.

In years gone by I think there has been fire work displays in Stanley Park but with the match being on I doubt it.

The roads will be packed and lids in hoodies will fire rockets and throw bangers at you on the way to and from the game.

God bless whoever put the game on bonfire night, massive weapons.

Spot on Goat, I bet it will cost the club as well for 'extra policing'

and what is it all about............some national hero trying to see off an oppressive foriegn King................the prick certainly wasn't English. History implies it was religious sectarianism but a fair few involved were Protestants

Lets have a statue for Guy de Fawkes and burn effies of Royalty year on year..............just a thought like:mellow::o

Do you still have Bonfire night?

Ive memories of every 'wreck' I think its called being set alight with everyone old crap, treacle toffee and hot dogs and fireworks.

Be shocked if you still do it due to todays politically correct mumbo jumbo

Yeah we still have it.

Utter madness.

One night of the year when it's perfectly acceptable to wander into a park and set off a small series of explosives.

I've built a big [Poor language removed] of a bonfire up at the plots. Homebrew will be a plenty.

And I promised to introduce everyone to black peas, seeing as they have never heard of them round these parts.

Plenty of vinegar obviously.

Id like to point out that the rocket would have to be faced exactly 180 degrees away from Goat's arse for it to have the tiniest change of not hitting it.

I'll be going to The Abbey before the game & drinking myself into oblivion, will go back for at least 1 afterwards depending on what my mates are doing & how we get on. **** bonfire night, I hate it

that would be 'rec' mate, an area for recreational activities. they have a 'red rec' on corrie, and we have one across the park:D

ahh, the 'arl one eyed suzies, fantastic seasonal fodder.

there's a big firework display at Walton Hall Park, creating traffic mayhem for all us wools, there is single lane traffic on the lancs at kirkby as you come under the m58, and then obviously it changes into walton hall drive, it is signed to expect severe delays between 5.30/9.30. w.h. park is also used for matchday parking as well so that will be unavailable.

anyone know if the Stanley Park car park is still out of use or has it reopened ? i am predicting mayhem on the streets around the ground and dreading the parking situation tbh, i would train it in but i'm taking 1 of the kids so it would be way to late for that shoite.

*awaits "go via the rocket and pick me up" from sharpy. how long does it take from rocket to Goodison on a matchday sharpy, i'm thinking through back streets instead of queens drive as that will probably be jammed due to the fireworks as well ?
