I watched this morning the heartfelt thoughts of the parents of young Rhys Jones. The way his dad described how his new school uniform and unopened calculator ready for him to start senior school next month were still around his bedroom- was tear jerking to say the least. It was really emotional to see the pictures of the young lad in about 4 different Everton tops smiling like any normal 11 year old would. This lad was shot while football training a few hundred yards from his house and was shot by teenagers on BMX's!
Now this morning I hear about a police car being shot at after a routine stop and search in Gloucstershire. A BMW wound down the window and opened fire on the police car.
A couple of weeks ago a man was snipered while on the motorway.
Last week a mother and her two year old child were knifed to death.
Every other day some teenager is being killed by knife by another teenager.
Teachers are starting to wear stab proof vests to teach in schools.
A friend of mine was stabbed last year- twice in the back and then luckily only a graze to the head as the guy tried to stab him in the temple. What was my friends crime?! Walking home a girl that this guy fancied. My friend was walking her home when the guy had quitely stalked him in a car until they were somewhere secluded and then crept up behind him and stabbed him in the back- what a [Poor language removed] coward!
2 months ago I was burgled, the person who did it came through my front door at 4.30pm in the afternoon. They walked out of my front door with my 38" plasma screen. I arrived home at about 4.55pm- so I missed them by about 20 minutes. Would they have got out of of my front door if I had arrived earlier- would they [Poor language removed]!
Now what Im getting at is this is a scarey time, violent crime seems on the increase and it is mainly teenagers and youths that are doing it. So what to do?
I dont agree with the punishment of parents in every case, each one should be done on case by case situation. Ask yourself the amount of people you know that are 'bad eggs' but there brother/sister are perfectly good respectable people?! They have had exactly the same opportunities that their siblings have had but choose a different path.
It starts in schools and the lack of discipline and RESPECT. When I was at school (Im only 27) I went to a fairly hard all boys school and the teachers ruled with an iron fist. In fact my favourite teacher was a 6'3" ex rugbly player who taught Maths. People didnt [Poor language removed] with him, he commanded respect and the pupils gave it to him. For the two years he taught me Maths I learnt more due to lack of pupli disruptions etc than any other teacher.
Teachers wearing stab vests- WHAT THE [Poor language removed]!!!??
My sister is a teacher and one of her pupils grazed her knee- she wasnt allowed to put a plaster on her knee in case the parents sued her- WHAT THE [Poor language removed]??!
It needs to start in schools and the installation of respect and manners at an early age. The cane, detention and the 'hair dryer' treatment should be brought back. well thats what i think anyway...
