I firmly believe as a club we are on the verge of moving to the next stage. I see very little difference in the top 8 clubs in terms of footballing ability. Shoot me down if you like, but I believe we have that here. 100% fitness and we have a great side, better than Liverpool's best team, and as good as Man U's best team, and I believe that 100%.

Bit of money, bit of luck on the injury front, and further development from the academy and this side, this club, will win trophies.

We are on the tipping point.

The Catalyst for all this? Well we have some great youngsters at this club, and some solid senior players who still have 4 or 5 good solid years left.

We hear about players coming through like Baxter, Bidwell and Barkley, as well as Coleman and many more, but the main key player. The one that holds the future of this side is one Jack Rodwell, and he will be the most important signing we will make.

Of course the club will go on, but we lose him and we lose a great opportunity to make Everton, well great again.

Fingers crossed the lad shares the same vision as the manager.

No player is bigger than the club. Ever.
We do not have world eleven class up front in our side, Rooney and Torres and Drogba are simply a cut above.
Moyes is the man, keeping him happy is the means to move forward. As for youngsters, lets not build them up too soon, Baxter still has an issue off the pitch about those thugs, that fake cash and those drugs. Rodwell fits in where in our team? Fellainis DM spot? CB maybe?
Seen a few too many messiah's to crack out the loaves and fishes just yet.

I agree. We're almost there.

I'm just a bit sceptical that we'll have enough (money, luck, whatever) to make that final push. Something will go wrong.

Steven Gerrard was a defensive midfielder when he first broke into the side for Liverpool.

Arsenal by the way have pushed United and Chelsea to the last 4 games without having a top quality striker. Liverpool have a top world class striker, but have they won anything?

Also Darren Bent is 3rd top score in the Premier League, is he world class?

Arteta and Pienaar are the most important players at the club. Keep them and we'll have a chance.

Rodwell hasn't earned that status yet despite his potential.

Liverpool - look at the DM fiasco they have at the moment.
Arsenal have Arshavin, Bendtner, Eduardo and Vela available besides the returning Persie. Lets not pretend they have been in the same situation as Torres, N'gog and Elzar.
As for Bent, I wonder how much support Jones and Frazier have given him. And penalties dont hurt either.

Well I disagree, on Arteta and Pienaar today I would have liked to have seen them call for the ball more and stop Distin hoofing that diagonal ball. If they wanted the ball more, then that kind of stuff wouldn't happen.

Well it seems things don't change much do they. See yer next week.

Aww. I was feeling you Ghost. I got all riled up & started doing those Rocky pushups w/ one hand behind my back, while replaying the Eye of the Tiger in my head.

I get your point on Rodwell. Of course we don't know if he'll turn out to be as great as we hope he will be. But he's got a chance to. And as a general mentality, in order to reach that next level, we need to hold on to these types.

Does anyone else think that Rodwell has somewhat come 'off the boil' in recent weeks?

It maybe that players like Arteta are back but surely Moyesy should be chucking him in the DMC role?

It's a tough one isn't it. We've shown this year that we can compete with the best in the league, but then Spurs have also beaten the rest in recent weeks and still lie outside the top 4. If Man City get that spot you can see the bar being raised still further.

It is an interesting time though as the league has been much more open this season. Will that continue next year? We're certainly heading in the right direction though.
