To be honest, the Liverpudlian accent is hard for me to catch the words.

It may be only my problem, because I actually did not speak English while I been in my country. I practice my English speaking by listening to films, but most of them from USA or elsewhere.

To be honest, I do not familiar with Liverpudlian accent and the words, particularly, the youngsters's accents or the grandperson's accents .sometimes make me hard to understand and can not response to what they want me to do. However, a lovely thing that found from all Liverpudlian I met, is they are trying to speak slowly to me and not boring when I can not understand them (y)(y). Those are very kind of them.

I thought I need to practice more Liverpudlian listening skills as well as my speaking. So do not bore me if I say anything or can not understand you when we met or have a party together. Thank you very much in advance. (y)(y)

Dylan how do you cope when Carragher is getting interviewed:lol:My son in law talks at the same speed and even though Im scouse born and bred I struggle and hes a proffesional comedian mind you on stage he talks slower, good job or he would finish his thirty minute set in about five:lol:

I know what you mean!!!!!!!!!

When I first came to Liverpool the people talked at one hundred miles per hour. But after many years working in many shops all over you get used to it. In fact it rubs off.

Picture this! I look like Vijay Singh the golfer and sound like Jimmy Corkhill of Brookside!

I can understand you guys just fine. My mum had problems with thick accents (best example was Rab C Nesbitt), but I have never had probloems understanding anybody.

When I argue about football with the son in law and he gets excited I need my grandson or daughter to translate as the part of the city hes from them do speak very quick and with my daughter marrying him 15 years ago I have noticed she has started to talk quicker either that or senility is setting in:lol:

Vijay, It does rub off pretty quick. I met my Argentine wife when she was studying in Birkenhead. She didn't even speak English when she arrived but after 6 months, Instead of using the official 'how are you?' on meeting someone, she'd be saying 'Alright, how's it goin'?'
