To MLS or not to MLS?

Gwladys St. Glory

Some like it hot...
Being stateside, I've been loathe (s'pose that's the wrong word...reluctant, perhaps) to follow a MLS club; mainly because it's pretty painful to watch most of the times I've managed to and, being an Evertonian, something was going to have to "catch my eye" for me to even make the effort to follow anything other than my beloved Blues.

Having said that, starting next MLS season, I will be a "Son of Ben". Finally, a MLS club that seems to have a bit of story behind it that I can grab on to (supporters, club crest etc (y)). Now, if they'd have just called it Philadelphia FC and left it at that. Ah well, can't have it all!

That is it, that is all....goodnight!

I support the local USL team, never really picked up a MLS team to follow. I don't mind watching it on TV. The quality of play isn't incredible, but the effort is there and there is a lot less diving and drama queens than you see in most euro leagues as that is not really part of our sporting culture. I took in a Fire game when I was in Chicago for the WC qualifier earlier this year and had a hell of a good time in the supporters' section. If we ever got a team in the Twin Cities I would support them for sure, but from a distance its not worth the effort.

The Union's crest is sweet.

I kind of follow DC United. Went to college with their defensive midfielder, Clyde Simms. To this day, I still think I'm the only fan who's the proud owner of a Simms No. 19 DCU shirt.

Salt Lake City or is it Real Salt Lake?

Anyway, I suppose I support them, although I've not seen them for a year or so, and even then it was only on one of those shows that updated Brits on American soccer.

You watching the game on now Bill? New England Vs Chicago.

1-1 atm, what you think final score will be? 2nd half just started.

Sorry mate, missed your post.

That was part of the Superliga competition and I missed that match. I did watch most of the 2nd match between Tigres and Santos of Mexico.

3-2 final score for Tigres and a fairly entertaining match.
