It's like people can't remember how mad they used to get when John Terry scored to draw a game that we should have won from a yard offside when VAR makes decisions. If you're mad about the right call just accept that you will always be mad.
When it’s that close, you’re assuming the timing of contact on the service is perfect for when they do the measurements. I’m mostly with you but these 1 inch margins are still imperfect. We benefited against Liverpool for something even closer, but still...those really close ones are tough to deal with.

Going off football me, started with var and now with no fans it's just boring the life out of me, can't remember the last time I watched a full non Everton match, even our matches are boring.

Absolute farce at the minute

The only people will be left are the top 6 fans and PL fanboys from Asia/USA who dont appreciate the joy of a last minute winner in a packed out ground.

Its become a complete farce and I honestly think many regular fans will start turning away.

Ever since VAR was first discussed I’ve always said I’d rather take the occasional dodgy call than have the game interrupted like it is, to check for a stray pube in an offside position.

The dodgy calls were not occasional. The difference is a lot of times players who were on were called off and because the linesman would not have waited for the play to end before flagging a lot of potential goals never even got close to happening. No one focuses on these.

I've never seen compelling evidence that they're getting it wrong. I'm fine if it exists but until it does I don't really like playing the what if.

It may be that I’m getting misty eyed over the (recent) past but I think those talking points are all part of the enjoyment. Yes, massively frustrating when they go against you, but I defy any Villa fans not to be frustrated right now after that shout. A player with 24” pythons like Adama Traore would have had that goal given because his shirt sleeve would have ridden up further than Watkins’s. Doesn’t seem fair to me.

I think if people are concerned that this is shifting the advantage too far to the defense then something like tightening up the entirely to loose interpretations of handballs in the box would be a good thing to do, but people lost their minds at that as well. Unfortunately people have to pretend football is perfect (it isn't) and kill any chance at improvement before it can even have an impact.

I would rather embrace the imperfections and the human errors than keep going round in circles changing rules and trying to eliminate every possible loophole.

In any event it’s not going anywhere so we’ll just have to get used to it!

Not available.

Its still a shambles - I couldn't care less if someones nose is offside unless they score with said nose its a con run by idiots who dont know how to use technology with common sense.

They have relaxed the handball ruling so why cant they do the same with offside?
Ah probably geolocked. Anyway it's Walcott's goal against Watford.

Relaxing the handball rule was stupid. Defenders are aware of how easily they can get away with making themselves bigger and take advantage. If they'd have kept their bedsheets dry and given it 2 months defenders would have figured out how to keep their hands down.

People just need to relax, tweek things as necessary and accept that it isn't bad just because it isn't how it was in 1998.

Two things occurr to me.

1. Imagine if, when they changed the offside law in1925, we'd had social media and wall to wall punditry.

2. The Aston Villa striker, Trezeguet, really should change his name. Or his job description. Or probably both.
