He would have if he had a striker who could finish available to him. Chances are we would have got a few wins if we had been able to finish vs Chelsea, villa and forest.

We have played well enough to win games. The wins will come soon enough and maybe you will finally back him with the same zest you backed the previous manager.

I think we've played 'better' than last season but so we should with a near new starting 11.

The question will ultimately be over the course of the season can Lampard get points on the board that other attainable managers couldn't? If not then the fans will inevitably turn when the excuses of "he aint been backed" "the teams awful" "he ain't got a striker" can no longer be trotted oot by his cult following.

I sincerly hope he takes us forward, the club need some stability but from what I've seen in his 23 league games in charge so far I aint holding my breath.

2022/23 PPG - 0.60%

2021/22 PPG - 1.18%

It's so transparent, please beat these odious cnts on the weekend Everton!

Even with level playing field refereeing it’a hard enough to beat them but you know going in they’ll have every single decision in their favour. We should have had a pen at Anfield last season but you knew full well that it was never going to be given as it was all about keeping them in a title race.

See Ramsdale threw one in from a corner, wonder will the rags have him hung on the back pages tomorrow?
Martinez threw in 2 in the same game.
Cant wait til the Van dijk episode gets aired for the 100th time come lunchtime saturday.
Englands no1 ?

Dont be a fool believing he'll still have the same backing if we continue on the same trajectory.

1. When Gana and Garner sign tomorrow thats 8 signings + Patterson thats a new starting 11 near enough.

2. Maupay available and Dominic Calvert-Lewin near fit

Running oot of excuses is old Super Fronk - the match going Blues will soon want to see results coming in.

Lets see if he gets them...

We all want to see results, but he needs a full season. I hope the naysayers give him that

Reality is that he has to post enough results by the World Cup to earn more time, and from there he has to continue to post above-relegation results.

In an American professional league, he would get a full season for a turnaround, but when relegation can potentially put the club beyond hope of redemption with respect to league rules there just won't be any patience. One advantage with Lampard is that he has worked for the league (former) owner notoriously least possessed of patience, so the pressure won't be unfamiliar.

Also not sure how the linesmen gave the decisions on the pitch when they were so tight. Surely they just go to VAR when they are that close.

Officials still have to make real time decisions if they think they know them. That’s my major issue with VAR; that people will slack off because they have it as a crutch in the background. It’s making officials so much worse at their job.
