exactly! i'm presuming your post was quirky, but it's also true. That's the main issue with refs in this country, none of them really have any bottle. It doesn't help they get hounded by everyone in the media, social media, a whole club, all it's players and managers without being able to answer back to what is normally just an honest mistake. But they do seem to enforce the law more fairly on smaller occasions than on the big ones, that's my opinion anyway. Bet that incident won't be applauded anywhere in the media.

Yes, I meant you don't see the sending off. You see far too much unpunished diving in the prem.

i was watching wales v serbia yesterday. I was just laughing how it took us 40 odd minutes to realise all you have to do is fall in the floor to get a free kick. Wales ended up with 4 yellows, when they didn't make one bad foul. about 2 serbians were waved to get back to their feet when the ref realised it was a dive, but not one yellow. Football is in a dire moment at this time, every other sport is overtaking it in the technology stakes because they're willing to make drastic changes and introducing technology. Yet football, just about milking money.

Boro with Ravenelli, Juninho, Emerson (and Phil Stamp), Chesterfield with Kevin Davies and Sean Dyche.

Absolutely scenes when Hewitt scored in the last seconds.



I always remember having a wee at half time and some bloke said 'I see Chelsea are in the final' and some other guy went 'well they'll have to wear their away kit then won't they?!'

Middlesbrough won the reply 3-0 like but it was so so close.

It was the same in the Ireland v Austria game. Touch an Austrian and they threw themselves to the ground.

It was, therefore, very refreshing when Wimmer's pathetic collapse to his knees was waved away by the ref, and then Ireland put together a lovely move and finish to score.

How many other refs would have taken the easy option and given the home side a soft free?

well this one didn't get phased by all the home fans shouting at him. There was no away fans to disrupt him, so even that was odd. I'd accept if they were just incompetent, but he was playing different rules for each team. A serbian raised a high boot to a welsh face and he gave no foul, the ball bounced, got kicked up in the air and then a high welsh boot into the face of the serbain and he gave the free quick, followed by two welsh yellow cards for complaining about the decision.
