Nice to see rat boy's penalty saved even if Bravo caused his own problem in the first place. Why the hell would a keeper lead with his feet ?

3-1 win for Chile against Uruguay.

Thought the game was a good watch

It says everything though that when Spain equalised I merely rolled my eyes and changed the channel, as opposed to actually being bothered that England had frittered away a 2 goal lead

I just can't find it in me to care about England at the moment

I suggest only the curmudgeons among us do not feel a surge of pride in watching this pride of Lions.
Yes, t'was ultimately a disappointing 2-2 denouement, but the episodic frission lent to us all from the mercurially cavalier style of the mighty Three Lions last night more than compensated such.
And speaking of three Lions, who of us cannot concede to feeling burst of patriotism at the sight of Adam, post his masterful strike, being embraced by Jordan and wee Raheem?

More of this please Gareth!!!

I always think it's pathetic when players are interviewed and are glowing in their praise for the coach.
Heard Henderson this morning saying the lads all want Southgate.
Soft buggers. The FA should appoint Pulis and have them all training like paratroopers.

Don't quite know where to put this - loathe to put it in a new thread, or directly to do with Gary Speed but he is - clearly - referenced in this article.

Anyway, clearly one bast**d involved there.

...admitted in a 2012 interview with the Sunday Times that Gary Speed was one of the youngsters who stayed at his house. Bennell told the newspaper he had not abused Speed, but added that even if he had done he would be unlikely to admit it anyway. When the reporter told him he would be left in peace, he replied: “There’s no peace now. How can you have peace when you’ve killed somebody?” He added: “To me, killing someone is what you’ve done to them, because their life’s never the same again.” Lawyers for Speed’s wife, Louise, subsequently put out a statement saying they had been assured the former Wales manager was not one of Bennell’s victims.

Really quite angry about that story.

Just been reading that article, mentions that Speed wasnt a victim but it does make you wonder,I worked with a few lads from Crewe about 15 years ago and it was common knowledge to them that there was dodgy characters involved in the football set up there

Blues Bag Fan Experience Award

Everton Football Club picked up the Best Fan Experience honour at the Fanalyse Awards on Thursday.

The Blues collected the accolade in Cardiff ahead of other shortlisted clubs Leicester City, Seattle Sounders and Liverpool, as well as the Wimbledon tennis tournament.

The award was in recognition for the Club's matchday engagement with its young supporters, a focus no more evident than in the annual Junior Fan Day. Each year a fixture is designated to celebrate the younger generation of Toffees, with activity and entertainment throughout the day as well as unique opportunities for junior Blues to take on matchday roles with the staff.

In addition, Everton are also the first club to have its own Junior Fans' Forum - a group aged between 11 and 17 who meet to provide feedback, ideas and suggestions to the Club, while also working on projects and initiatives.

Scott McLeod, Head of Engagement, said: "This award is recognition of the great work done across the Club to improve and enhance the matchday experience for fans - and our young fans in particular. It is also a reflection of what can be achieved when the Club and supporters, through groups such as the Fans' Forum and Junior Fans' Forum, work together to share ideas and create memorable experiences."

The honour follows a double win at the recent Football Business Awards, where the Club picked up prizes for Best Fan Engagement and Best Marketing Initiative, while Everton in the Community were crowned the Premier League Community Club of the Year at this week's Northwest Football Awards.
