this is why i'm not sure on a name like keane. When it comes to being in europe/big games which could see us trying to qualify for the CL, is that really the right type of player? I know he's been at united, but he's never really had that big game exposure yet, it'd be a massive step up for him. A player like van dijk has played internationally, in the champions league, in the europa league, will have played in a league cup final possibly.

Exactly...good point this is. If we get 6th or 7th with EL qualification surely this is a better platform than last summer when we were unable to attract big names due to the last 2 terrible seasons. We are on the up right now.

Not bothered about how he looks doing it - fact is every time he does it he's effective, and he has good distribution too.

"There's a reason he's at Hull" isn't a good argument given he's only 23.
