Hmmm, I think from the Refs POV hes watched the player swipe his leg, hes dived, but there was contact and its a peno for me.
Var has made it easy for the sly six, beginning to truly hate football or this version of it.
To be honest… the interpretation of the rules these days hasn’t left the ref with much choice but to award the penalty. Was it soft ? Of course….. but there is contact (albeit very little) so he has to give it.
