Surely you can't allow players, regarless of winning the ball or not, tackle with two footed lunges with the studs showing? Has to be red every time for me

Football is a contact sport at the end of the day
If a player gets scythed down at the ankle and gets taken off on a stretcher, that's a red

theres nothing cowardly about it, once your entire body is off the ground you have no control, if you mis time that your breaking a leg, plus there is no reason to ever do a two footed tackle unless you are a coward looking to protect yourself, they are the worst thing in football and should be eradicated, I've seen lads never kick a ball again after these disgusting 'tackles'
Interesting viewpoint. I will agree with you that the players are over protected to a certain degree.
However, for me there is no place in football for the sort of challenge Rafael did. Winning the ball or not, it can't be allowed IMO.

As people have already said a 2 footed in the air (without no control) tackle can cause a certain leg break, which could end someone's career. Definite sending off and should be eradicated from the game.
