Send him to rot in the reserves.
Or SELL
Or SELL
But he's just really, really crap.
Honestly, he played well today and was decent against Palace.
He's been bloody awful for us some times, and if everyone else is fit and in form, then he shouldn't be a regular starter, but if he hadn't been signed by Martinez, was dog ugly as opposed to being a bit of a pretty boy, didn't have a drop dead gorgeous missus and wasn't paid a fortune for kicking a ball about then I don't think we'd see quite so much obvious jealousy.
If he plays against Burnley and is poor then I'll be in this thread saying so, but I'm not going to sl@g him off when he's played well just become some biffs* on the internet think it's trendy to do so.
*I'm not totally sure what a biff is, but I like the sound of it so I'm going to start using it.
That's all he can do though. He's not a very dynamic player, can't really pass, not particularly mobile, can't beat a man, rarely puts a tackle in, turd goal scoring record. McCarthy offers more in that role. He did alright yesterday but he's definitely one of our more limited players. He's come in and offered some back up to our first 11 which was probably the primary reason for bringing him in, when we have injuries etc but going forward if we are to get to where we want to be he won't be a part of the squad for much longer.Cleverley did his defensive duties fine yesterday as did the other midfielders and defenders. The game plan was to roll up the sleeves and battle and he did that as well as anyone.
Finally figured out what he's best at; being the first one to join the goal scorer in the celebrations, he absolutely wazzes over out of nowhere and is the first to jump on them. Not enough to keep him in the team unfortunately.
Going to be very interesting on here if Koeman starts him against Burnley.
Players like McCarthy and Cleverley can get by in a central midfield three, but are complete liabilities when placed in a central midfield two. I can see either of them starting if he keeps yesterday's formation and neither of them if he returns to having a second striker.
