That was a huge goal. I don’t care who you are. You can’t blame Tom for this loss. It’s not even that he played particularly great or anything. That goal sparked the comeback though.

He's still slow as balls compared to anyone on the pitch today (and many other days) though, probably bar Morgan or the goalies, and even that's a doubt.

This is my dilemma with Tom.
He's got a talent and I like him, but I don't think he has enough talent to go to the next or higher level.
City, the RS, top European clubs are not sniffing round him. When Gomes, Delph, Gylfi, Gbamin are all fit, he isn't getting a game. So where does it leave him and us. I personally think we need two top midfielders next summer and would be happy to sacrifice Tom to a Burnley type team. He reminds me of someone like Tom Cleverley as an example. Someone not the best but will still make a career in the Prem, albeit with a lower team.

He’s a 21 year old playing mid field in a cobbled together team with a young centre back play ping out of position against a well drilled side, second in the league. He scored a great goal.
That was a really fine performance from him given the circumstances.

I noticed whenever Holgate got the ball he looked for the short square pass to Tom first. I am sure he was told to do that. Lets be honest, Davies was the only CM on the pitch for us last night against a full strength midfield lying second in the division. I thought he did well.

It would be good for his skill development, his mentality, and our ability to evaluate him if the club would give him a run in one position. He’s been jerked around all over the midfield, different managers, different philosophies, different midfield partners, now he’s got a run of games as the youngest captain in club history, now he doesn’t get a start and sometimes doesn’t even make the match day 18 with bad players with worse attitudes playing in front of him.

Last night was against one of the best club midfields in the world right now on form and we don’t literally have any midfielders other then him, and our best CB over the past month is the other MF, which leaves as one of the CBs a guy in terrible form who is playing himself out of his club and country’s sides, and our two fullbacks despite their many positive qualities are a combined four hundred and thirty three years old, and this same leaky bathtub lineup ins playing its third game in-seven days...

Tom did OK.
