I thought Holgate was much better than him tonight.

His partner was a centre back...and he got ran raggered coz they had their full strength midfield against him. Let's give young Thomas a break ey?Very poor for me, got caught on the ball far to many times. No pace what so ever. 5th choice for a reason
He's still slow as balls compared to anyone on the pitch today (and many other days) though, probably bar Morgan or the goalies, and even that's a doubt. His partner was a centre back...and he got ran raggered coz they had their full strength midfield against him. Let's give young Thomas a break ey?
Gets caught on the ball way too often
Or maybe a good all-round midfield playing squad player. This is my dilemma with Tom.
He's got a talent and I like him, but I don't think he has enough talent to go to the next or higher level.
City, the RS, top European clubs are not sniffing round him. When Gomes, Delph, Gylfi, Gbamin are all fit, he isn't getting a game. So where does it leave him and us. I personally think we need two top midfielders next summer and would be happy to sacrifice Tom to a Burnley type team. He reminds me of someone like Tom Cleverley as an example. Someone not the best but will still make a career in the Prem, albeit with a lower team.
I noticed whenever Holgate got the ball he looked for the short square pass to Tom first. I am sure he was told to do that. Lets be honest, Davies was the only CM on the pitch for us last night against a full strength midfield lying second in the division. I thought he did well. His partner was a centre back...and he got ran raggered coz they had their full strength midfield against him. Let's give young Thomas a break ey?
Who’s are first second third and fourth? He's our 5th choice midfielder for a reason.
