He's a hard watch to be honest, desperately want him to come good but he literally doesn't even resemble a midfielder these days. Even the shouts for him to get stronger, if you look at the times he seemingly gets outmuscled it's very often because he isn't set right, body shape all wrong. Davies and Delph almost always manage to put themselves in a worse position after their first touch than when they were getting the ball. All these things are fundamental skills for centre mids at any level. Instincts can't really be coached so watching him flop around is tough. I'd love to be wrong but i really can't see him getting to the level we need.

He's supposed to be a back-up for our first choice central midfielders (Gomes/Gbamin) but he's having to do the job that Sneids/Siggi/Delph can't/won't do so until their back he stays (and I hope plays).

Is he the level I want at our club; no (not yet at least) but I didn't see that much from Rice (who plays for England). He plays Tuesday for me.

Feel bad saying it because Tom does his best. He's just not athletic enough and gives the ball away far to often in the most dangerous areas when the games are very tense and tight. This won't go over Ancelotti's head. He needs time to cut loose the deadwood. Another option would be to have Tom as a squad player who only plays when absolutely needed as his wages would be manageable. I thought Delph done ok today.

We seem to give our kids a hard time for not being world-beaters, encourage the club to go out and buy somebody elses kids (Schneiderlin, Delph, Klaasen) and funnily enough they are no better, are less arsed and cost us a fortune.

Honestly he reminds me of Robbie Savage, probably because of the hair, but also because he runs around like a headless chicken trying to make things happen. A trier that I'm glad we have right now.

The Man City fans were singing “you’re just a s**t Robbie Savage, s**t Robbie Savage” to him and I was thinking, they’ve nailed it with that one.

He gave the ball away late on in the game and did the same against Brighton and probably on many other occasions, this could have cost us points , he's easily knocked off the ball and looks like he's running in sand and gives the ball away far to many times, he just has,not got a nasty streak, just to nice, like rodwell. Championship bound.
