Its not a new thing either. Its been the case since he broke through like 4 years ago.

I like him, always have. He's not a top player but give me someone who makes mistakes trying to do the right thing over someone who doesn't even try at all.

He's got a smart football brain. He's probably the best player we have at shielding the back 4. I dont see a time when there's no room for him in the squad as a utility type player.

When Tom plays and he's our slowest midfielder it's not that bad. When he's our fastest midfielder we're in trouble.

Happy with him in with Doucoure and/or Allan. With Gomes and Sigurdson though it's a nightmare.

He helps other players look better, especially James and Richarlison. He comes deep and passes forward so they don't have to. Of course id prefer someone who does the job better, but he is constantly trying the right things.

Even our goal against Leicester came because he took a tricky pass in pressure but was able to play it round the corner and beat the press. Sigurdsson or Doucoure would have laid it backwards in that role.

I find it a little peculiar that people are unhappy with him being (at best) 3rd choice CM at the moment...if Gbamin can recover Davies becomes 4th choice.

One or two new centre mids push him to 5th or 6th choice.

If we got an offer for £12mi+ id sell but find it odd people slate him when hes not really going to be a starter.

I think he’s an ok squad player, he comes in and does try, same can’t be said for some of our players.
