Bruce Wayne

Player Valuation: £100m
Not sure we have one yet, and I'm sure Rodders wants to talk about it. Anyway, greatest event of the year has begun again. Super ride by David Millar today to put him up amongst the leaders. Mountains soon (y)

My favorite Kraftwerk song.

By the way Bruce, I think I saw one of the riders on your old bike.

Argh the swines. Bet it was a Frenchman.

how did you guess

mark cavendish won todays stage.
they are claiming it as a british winner, and adding that he's from isle of man, i didnt think that was britain as they have their own olympic team dont they?

from wiki
The Isle of Man (Manx: Ellan Vannin, pronounced [ˈɛlʲən ˈvanɪn]) or Mann (Manx: Mannin, [ˈmanɪn]) is a self-governing Crown dependency, located in the Irish Sea at the geographical centre of the British Isles. The head of state is Queen Elizabeth II, who holds the title of Lord of Mann. The Crown is represented by a Lieutenant Governor. The island is not part of the United Kingdom, but foreign relations, defence, and ultimate good-governance of the Isle of Man are the responsibility of the government of the United Kingdom.
The island was a Celtic community which came under the rule of the Norse in 1079. This has left a legacy from the Tynwald government to many place names. After a period of alternating rule by the Kings of England and Scotland, the Manx came under the feudal over-lordship of the English Crown. The lordship revested to the British Crown in 1764 but the island never became part of the United Kingdom. This accounts for its current position as a Crown dependency.

so it seems british but not part of uk.

GOOD ON YA BRITISH LAD......THEY DONT LIKE IT UP 'EM, DONT FORGET TO RAISE THE BOW FINGERS !!!

Good to see Cavendish win a stage. He's really come of age this season and may win one or two more this year. He won a couple in this years Giro so it can't be ruled out.

On the issue of nationality, we also have a guy riding under the British flag that was born in Kenya.

wonder if he brought any runners with him as well for th'olimpics.
we have a south african cricket captain.(peterson)
tongan wingers who have played for n.z. on the rugby wing(the volcano). a kiwi who's played for nz played union(henry paul)

i know some can play because they qual. for england / gb because of family but i disagree with this 3 year qualification period based on residence.
the cricket have always been at it .........and its just not cricket !!!
a qualification period thats much longer would be ok 'cos you could move somewhere as a child and live for 10 years there before it becomes an issue but 3 years isnt long enough.

Nice work Bruce (y)

I managed to catch at least the last 10k of each stage on German Eurosport in Spain

Made up for Cav's two stages, just gutted I didn't have money on it! Passed a bookies in town the day before I left and thought about putting a tenner on him winning a stage in the first week, really should have done! Even the Germans sounded mildly excited by it! He is by far and a way the best sprinter in the peloton, especially with the absence of Tom Boonen.

After Sunday's stage I said Evans would be in yellow by last night, sure enough he was, if only by a second! Can't see anyone else who is strong enough to seriously challenge him to be honest. Would be quite pleased if he won really, he's been there or there abouts the last couple of years and think he deserves a proper shot at it. He's got a good team around him so to paraphrase something I read in my TDF guide, he can only have himself to blame if he doesn't win. Certainly won't be Lotto letting him down.

Have Sky plussed all the highlights shows so guess what I'm doing today (y) Back to the soothing tones of Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen after the German madness!

can we look forward to the winner all over the backpages in a drugs scandal again?

Tour de Farce more like.
