Saw a video of the Bradford fire in some fire training we did at work a few years ago.
Absolutely unbelievable at the speed the fire took hold. They didn't stand a chance.

I’ve watched that video, the heat builds because of the roof and turns everything to fire, unbelievable speed.

It's heartbreakingly sad isn't it, going out to watch a game of football and never going home.

Just watched it on YouTube. Other than that I hadn't seen any coverage other than what I saw through a TV shop window in 85 while I was hoping to see the footie results.

The absolute bravery of those police officers and public who went towards what must have been blistering heat to try and save some of those people. Were any if them recognised for that or knighted?

Not sure but I hope they received some recognition, they have to live with that memory, I can't begin to understand like all football tragedies.

Also, to think that this happened in pre-mobile phone/internet times, so those at home had no idea what had happened to their loved ones until much later on. I remember my uncle was at Ibrox on the day of the Stairway 13 disaster, and my auntie had obviously heard all about it on the news, but it was many hours before he was able to get to a phone box to let her know he was OK.
