Player Valuation: £100m
Martinez needs to be brave. We'd get a few million for Kone and we could get a few for Naismith too.
yep i agree i mean surely we can replace both of them for £3m

Bit harsh on Joel. Over the last season he had it drummed into him that if you want to be first choice goalkeeper at everton then you have to concede stupid goals.
Kone
Naismith
McGeady
Barry
Howard
Gibson
Joel
Need to punt them all.
Probably the players id like rid of. But who the hell would buy them??
Looking at the Tim Howard thread, loads of Americans would take him.
Kone, Joel and McGeady someone would take a punt on.
Barry a lower prem side
Gibson no one
Naismith may fetch a few ££

Just because MLS teams would welcome Howard doesn't mean he's interested in moving back. The sense over here is that he won't return to the MLS.
That tends to be the missing piece in a lot of these conversations. The player has to agree to a move.

what up with Rom?

People need to get serious about selling Kone. No one will pay actual money for him. We have 3 options-
1) another club desparate for a striker may offer to pay 50% of his wages. Possibly with clauses to pay more if he actually plays/scores goals. This probably won't happen as he has serious fitness problems and he has been rubbish for 2 years. Also Kone would have to agree to the move which he may not want to do.
2) we offer him a % of his wage (e.g. 40-60%) to cancel his contract. Again unlikely as he'll know this is the last top level money he'll ever earn so why not wait and get all the money for his last remaining year.
3) we keep him and hope he pops up with 1 or 2 goals (and i really mean 1 or 2) by being in the right place at the right time. A random tap in against United or RS and we may all look more fondly on him (this is probably what Martinez is hoping for).
Remember that cross AVM put in against RS in the FA Cup game in 2009...
