had a debate with my brother yesterday on a completely hypothetical situation. Would you be happy if we sold stones for 30+ million and used that to bring in Isco? I'd be thrilled he said no way with an already skint CB situation.

If Isco wanted to come to Everton, I'd give my right bollock. Unfortunately, he's successful and ambitious... So that rules that one out.

However, I've heard James McFadden is available on a free transfer....

Imagine thinking, even if we had money, that we'd be able to buy Isco. I know it was only hypothetical but c'mon, let's come down from cloud nine.

Our net transfer spend in the past 5 years has been £9.9m. Meaning on average our net spend per season is just under £2m. To put that into context, only Villa, Watford and Spurs have a lower net spend per season.

Out of the running because we don't have the funds available to sign him.

Stoke and West Brom are among the sides interested in bringing Ahmed Elmohamady back to the Barclays Premier League.

The highly-rated Egyptian winger wants to return to the top-flight after being relegated with Hull last season.

Elmohamady, 27, has a year left on his contract at the KC Stadium but is keen to leave this summer in a cut-price deal.

Elmohamady is keen to return to the Premier League as quickly as possible after being relegated with Hull
MORE...
Stoke and West Brom are both leading the hunt for the former Sunderland man, who is valued at £3million.

Newcastle and Watford are also in the race, while there is interest from abroad from both Sevilla and Benfica.

Elmohamady joined Hull in 2013 from Sunderland after two loan spells at the KC Stadium. He arrived in England in 2010, joining the Black Cats from Egyptian side ENPPI.

We all make sacrifices one way or another for Everton but I'd check first with Real Madrid before hacking your right bollock off.

Be awful to go through all that and Real to look at you as if you're a crazy weirdo trying to given them a testical for one of their players.

Problem with Martinez is that he has too big a semi on for certain players. Cleverly should only be a squad player but his love in will probably see him played out left whilst his other bun chum Barry will still be played alongside Mccarthy

Mikey, you are entitled to your opinon, but , it is only your opinon and there really is nothing other than his performances in a third division league
which indicates that he may turn out to be a good player. There isn't even any international form to go on.

Of course good players come down from Scotland, Israel, Costa Rica, all sorts of weird and wonderful places.
However, for every player that came from Scotland and was the next sure thing there are probably a dozen that have not made the top grade.

If we sign Virgil, it will as a speculative punt, hoping that he can transfer his Scottish form onto a much higher level..and there lies the problem.
Chris Commons would be regarded as Celtic better players, he is not close to being good enough to play premiership. At a fee of 4m probably worth a punt, more than that is too big a risk.

I would prefer to spend the kind of money suggested on a young centrehalf like Keane at Burnley.
Van Dijk is better than Jagielka, and right now better than Stones too.

Looks like Charlie Austin will sign for Newcastle this week.
credit where credits due, bar the player with no age they just got, they are making some decent signings. They need to solidfy rather than go from relegation to champions league in a season and if Mclaren is any good for them they could be a decent team this year.

m one of the ever optimists on here but got to say a couple of comments have got even myself a little bit WTF

Is he keeping hold of Galloway from loan because we are selling stones, bringing in another centre back and then using Galloway as 3rd choice?

We are pretty full in midfield so he says. Does that mean we are not getting this number 10? Pretty much no chance of Sergi Roberto also then

Papers today saying Newcastle not going after Shaqiri after he has been offered round Premier league clubs. Does that mean he has also been offered to us and we aren't interested too?

After moaning about the moaners all pre season saying "lets wait and see what happens" some of these comment are a little worrying or maybe iv just caught the disease.
