I had this issue until I watched Gomorrah, which I put off doing for ages due to subtitles, within a couple of episodes it just became normal and you don't even think about it.

If I'm not mistaken the church at the beginning of the second episode is the Methodist Church in Tranmere. Got married in that 1976.
