TV Series

I think I've finally reached saturation point with Star Wars. There was a time when I would've been made up at the prospect of a new series but Disney have mismanaged the franchise so badly since the takeover that I'm totally ground down and board by most of their new stuff. That being said, the trailer for Acolyte actually looks pretty good and the general idea of the show sounds interesting enough for me to at least give the opening two episodes a go.
As a huge fan of the original trilogy, I'm ok with the TV shows. To me, Disney has done ok, because they have brought us arguably the 3/4th best movie in the franchise (Rogue One - which I rate better than Return of the Jedi and the terrible Prequels), and also, the other standalone film (Solo) is better than the prequels for me. The sequel trilogy has some brilliant visuals, some interesting characters and ideas, but are generally a big mess.

As for the live action TV shows, Andor is outstanding (and my favorite Disney SW release along with RO), the first two seasons of The Mandalorian are superb and I also really like the Ahsoka show. Kenobi, meh, big mess, and The Book of Boba Fett is just terrible.

Now, Animation. The 7th season of The Clone Wars is fantastic, and The Bad Batch and Rebels are also great.

So, a mixed bag - I wouldn't say that Disney has ruined Star Wars at all, they are about 50/50 for me - some outstanding shows and movies and some very bad ones as well. I'm really looking forward to The Acolyte, season 2 of Andor and Ahsoka, but the movies they have confirmed again, are a mixed bag of expectation and positivity.

I suppose it all depends on how much you where invested tbh mate. I was madly invested into star wars years ago. Read all the books and comics, the lot. (Yes I was and still am a colossal nerd!😂). Most of the Disney stuff just does nothing for me. I would agree that Rogue One and Andor along with the Mandalorian season one and two (three was a bit meh to me) where all amazing stuff but apart from that its just been horrible to me. I do like a lot of the animation stuff and some of the new books to but overall I think the quality of storytelling has been horrific. Now that could partly be because I'm still bitter that Disney refuse to acknowledge the vastly superior old EU or maybe because its just not for me anymore but all I know is that I see the same problems over and over again in the new stuff. Even in the trailer for the Acolyte (which I really do think will be great) one of them is obvious. They simply refuse to have a large presence of ailians in them. The entire cast of characters are human 99% of the time. I truly don't know why they can't see this and address the issue when it would take so very little correct.

As a child of the prequels, I absolutely love all of it. I was 8 was Phantom Menace came out and that just instilled my love of it. While I understand the dislike of the prequels, I love them, as it’s what introduced me to Star Wars and if they are considered some of the worst of Star Wars. Then to me, it really isn’t bad at all.

And yeah, there are storyline issues and plot holes galore etc, but other than the book of boba which seems to have gone from my memory, I’ve enjoyed all of it to different levels for what they are.

Like; I knew Kenobi was just going to be a nostalgia fest but Ewan McGregor was my Jedi growing up, so just appreciated it for that.

And some of the animated series are just fantastic.

Pretty sad, they're cartoons

Where is it between Superhero cartoons and giant radioactive lizards fighting each other over Neo-Tokyo that you're drawing the line?

Watching Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters at the minute.

I'm enjoying it but I'm a fan of the Godzilla stuff anyway
