They write a ton full of [Poor language removed], well most of them.

The recent sack Moyes story is a tonful of [Poor language removed].

'sack moyes' by John Holmes

http://www.toffeeweb.com/season/06-07/comment/fans/12347-Holmes.asp

this entire piece is a whopping great piss take.

basically Mr Holmes is pointing out that under moyes we are no longer involved in final day cliffhangers where relegation is a distinct possibility, then comparing the season ending fixtures results with us now looking for possible entry to europe instead of at who might be going down instead of us.

The jubilation all the greater because you knew there was only a 50-50 chance that opening the scoring would lead to a victory.

he is talking about the bad old days when we were real dross, poor in attack and defence.

The player comparisson is full to bursting with irony.

speaking about those times...

A cursory glance at the statistics, somewhere near the top of the goal-scoring charts, solid runs of clean sheets, blah, blah, blah. It doesn’t compare with the gut-wrenching of trying to see where those last 17 points to lift us to the magical 40 would come from.

he is singing the praises of moyes in a way that the moyes detractors wont pick up on and shout him down for instantly.

give it a solid re-read, and pick the bits out where he actually gives moyes credit.

Claiming we need to get to 40 points when he knows perfectly well we’ll get closer to 60...messing around at the bottom of the league until November when he knows perfectly well we’ll be fighting for Europe by February.

i rather liked this article, a lot of imbiciles in the mail bag rose to the bait in fine style. i am actually quite surprised TW ran it. It doesnt fall into line with their 'moyes out' mantra and condemnation for those that still believe moyes capable.

Still, they have criticised MBE for being condescending and critical of his fellow everton supporters.

Very good commentary Suits.

(Oh, and if you want a real laugh, go read some of the Mailbag submissions...heh.)

i have caught a few, that particular article seems to have polarised a certain element of the contributors. Its kind of funny watching them get the wrong end of the stick then battle each other trying to justify their points of view.

someone named boris put an article up called 'a rod to beat him with' and highlighted the fact that everton have the sixth best goal difference in the league thus far. none of the mail bag facists took it on, although they frequently point out moyes managing everton to lowest goals scored records and negative goal difference records. i have to say i really dislike the manner in which they moderate* the mail bag.

moderate* see also verbally abuse those whos opinions differ from the TW line of 'moyes out', all from the comfort of having the last word every time.
