What are the odds that AC Milan miss the Champions League?

And then what are the odds of us facing them in the UEFA cup at some early stage?

Would be interesting to see the qualification ranking to see how high Everton will be ranked this time around. We had a good record in Europe this time.

10 games: 8-1-1 and out on penalties :(... and we did beat the finalist Zenit at home in the groupstage.:)

Should give us a decent run of points to increase our ranking for this coming UEFA-run.
 

is this also where the coefficient thingy comes into it ?
if we are 50th, how many that are above us will be in the uefa ?
how does the draw work in the 1st round ?
can we only get a team who have come from the qualifiers or is it an all in the hat draw ?

The important info is that we are presently ranked 6th of the 80 teams in UEFA Cup Rd 1 - this may be lower depending on some other qualifiers (as yet unconfirmed) - assuming that not too many ranked above us in the CL Qualifiers drop into the UEFA Cup by defeat in CLQR3 we have an outside chance of being a top seed (Top EIGHT in the Group Stage of the UEFA Cup - in this (last?) season's competition we just scraped into Pot 3 which gave us an apparently difficult task of beating Zenit and AZ - this time round we should have an even stronger chance of progressing into the KO stages.

still no wiser tbh dan, stuff the sh1te , not arsed about em, let em qual and get knocked out without coming into "our" comp. how are the spuds above us ? surely we had a better record than them in both europe and prem,and although they won the league cup we also reached semis.

whats the chances of maritimo funchal in madeira, what with all the pastry/cake based threads, we'll easy battenberg them, we'll jam roly poly into town and give them a right pastrying.

so what round was rangers v fiorentina, b.munich v zenit.:unsure:
they got to 1/4 finals in 2006/2007 so i guess that would give them a better ranking on the coeff. thingy

It's far to complicated for a few sentences but the Ranking is based on team's performances over the past few years (the more recent is worth more) with 2 points for a win, one for a draw. In addition to our performance you have to add the National Average (based on points earned divided by games played by English teams) which allows new teams to have some stature in the competition based on the ability of their contemporaries. For example when we reached Europe in 2005 (and again this past season) we were given a ranking that enabled us to represent England fairly - giving us a chance to progress. It wouldn't be reasonable to expect every (top-end) team in every country to qualify every time (and, without an awarded ranking they wouldn't get very far, perpetuating a hegemony for the so-called big teams - BUT you might argue that this is almost the case anyway at the top end of the Champions League).

In Spurs' case they have had 2 good runs in recent years in the UEFA Cup so that's how they have landed up with such a good ranking.

i dont think it matters, alkmaar were in pot 1 last year, we were in pot 3, how [Poor language removed] were alkmaar?!?! our ressies done them comfortably, regardless of the points we have it is a competition full of teams at a similar if not weaker standard to us and a competition we should be reaching the latter stages in comfortably
