Well if they didn't they'd have to ban everyone who did it

Not saying i agree with the decision, but its impossible to enforce.

Contradiction right there...Enforce it by banning everyone,

All the pricks are going to carry on diving now, If they all get banned then theyd think twice about it would they not??? Bad shout by UEFA this, I really thought they actually built up a bit of backbone and started tackling issues that have ruined this game, cowards them lot at UEFA

Sorry, I meant they can't review every incident and decide to ban players on it. You know as well as I do Fifa are incompetant fools that cant make a decision without several weeks dwelling on it. The sheer amount of cases would make it impossible to do them all. And then how do you prioritise which players get banned? Will clubs like us suffer while the RS get away with anything?
And what if the ref took action (like a yellow), can they undermine the authority of the ref?

Although I do agree they definately need to do something.

Its obvious that the teams/players that do get punished would feel agrieved whilst others may get away with it but I dont thing its something that they would need police for too long. Players would very quickly stop if they realised they faced lengthy bans for throwing themselves on the floor and subsequently, no diving, no policing for UEFA/FIFa. Simples.

My problem with the ban was what it was for, it was that they arbitrarily made a new rule out of thin air right then and there.

I'd rather they say that for next season, retroactive punishment will be awarded for players who embellish or dive during a match.

Good idea.

Poor implementation.

Guys fall over , and it would be unfair if a genuine stumble were to be punished.
I agree with punishing blatant diving though, especially when trying to win a penalty, and this is really another case for using technology to assist with decisions.

Why the governing bodies won't give it a go baffles me.

Perhaps they need a process whereby a club can cite an opposing player who has cheated in some way & request the incident(s) be investigated, whether it's a dive, malicious foul, feigning injury or deliberate handball. But it's only worth doing if the punshment for those found guilty are sufficiently severe.

You'd have managers reporting stuff every week.

Eduardo did nothing wrong but con the reff. Reff's fault. End of.

Celtic and the SFA were only whinging because they were sent crashing out of the Champs League. They only scored the 1 goal at the Emirates...they needed about 4.

I dont like this little turd. He gets paid obscene amounts of money but still finds it necessary to cheat. Capital punishment is in order here.
