Welton Toffee

Player Valuation: £40m
Okey dokey, so in the past week or so I've got offers from Unis.

UEA Norwich - History - ABB
Leicester - History - BBB
Leicester - Contemporary History - BBC
Keele - History with International Relations - 280 points

Keele will be my insurance choice but I have no idea what to go for as my first choice. My predicted grades are ABB, but with the exam boards being so erratic I'm not totally convinced I'll get those.

UEA is an awesome Uni, but it is in the middle of nowhere and not at all handy for Everton ;) Leicester on the other hand is also a really good Uni, in a better geographical location, but the accomodation is 40 mins walk from campus, and Leicester as a place isn't brilliant. What to do what to do.....

Rodders. Stay focused, stay confident, and aim high. Don't settle for second best. Work your ass off and apply yourself, you only get one shot at the rest of your life. You seem bright enough to do it, so have the faith in yourself that I and many in here also have in you.

You can do it. Go for the top target mate. Trust me.

What we do here today, will echo in eternity

Nice one Gaz (y)

None of them are very close to home mick. Leicester is the nearest and that's well over an hour away. I'm deffo going away. Whilst Welton is a nice enough place, it's time for a change!

Since when did those places start wanting those kind of grades? As for which one you choose, go for the best you can academically. Employers will look at the university you went to above anything else.

I think in the latest league tables UEA was 20th and Leicester 21st. Leicester is number one in the country for student satisfaction.

History is really competitive Bruce, even some pretty average unis want good grades. UEA and Leicester are the two best unis that I could have realistically applied for with my predicted grades.

Well blow me, I didn't know that. I'm just a snob, if it's not in the Russell Group then I havn't got a clue :D

In the top 20 sounds pretty good though. Any well published authors at either?

UEA - Kazuo Ishiguro: author of Remains of the Day, Whitbread and Booker Prize winner
Ian McEwan: Booker Prize winning author
Anne Enright: Booker Prize winning author

Leicester - Malcolm Bradbury, author
Patrick Redmond , novelist
C. P. Snow, author
