Virginia can be awful too. There was a really bad snow/ice storm in the DC Area a couple of winters ago. Stranded cars everywhere. Ended up taking 7.5 hours to drive two miles...and sleep in my office

Blimey, they dont mess about.

$200 fines for trying to drive into cities. Cars have to be taken off the road. They open up the school car parks for people. You have to clear the path/pavement in front of your house.

We just skid about on the M6 and get our post late.

Looking like my parents on Long Island will be getting up to 30 inches. Hope my old man got that snowblower after all like we suggested...for the 35th winter in succession

Don't want to tempt fate but snow here, near Lake Michigan has been pretty low this year/season. Managed to get a hernia op and the fella I sorted out to deal with my snow hasn't had to plow once. Made up tbh, saved $30 a time.

But yeah east coasters call in sick and watch some telly

Just returned from studying in Greece last few months, and Massachusetts is kind enough to reintroduce me to inclement weather. Stocked up on booze and food, getting holed up at my school for a few days. Classes cancelled. Can't wait to do a few drunken sled runs tonight.
