Reidy's Bottle Of Grecian

The Unobstructed View
got the laptop hooked up to the tv, been in control panel and selected multiple monitors and layout, got media player to play on the tv but sound still comes from laptop,
do i need to connect another lead ?
or should the sound go with the pic when i send it across ?
i used the lead that is for an ext.monitor, should i have maybe used an s-video/s-video lead so as to send the sound as well ?

i think i need a lead that has on one end a headphone jack and ont'other the yellow and white rca connectors, there is an abundance of leads in various locations/cupboards/attic but pretty sure i dont have one of those

That's close to what you need. You're only running a video signal to the TV with the RCA-out port of the computer. You need a lead with a headphone input on one side and the red and white video inputs on the other side. I used the same cord when I used to hook up my stereo for music.

sussed it thanks, i have one of those leads but also one with a headphone plug on both ends which fits into my tv in the socket labelled pc sound, it's right next to where i put the other cable for the laptop, to use the tv as a monitor.
