The Gold Cup. A lot of matches are played, and in the end the Mexicans or the Americans win.

It's always nice to see them play in the final. That 2011 final was something else. I've never been so terrified to support a side that was up 2-0 in my life.

I was right. I took a call at around the 25th minute, and told the non-football-fan at the other end that we were up 2-0, and that we were going to lose anyway. How we lost was a thing of beauty, though. The Mexicans really turned on the jets.

Dos Santos toying with Howard before curling it into the top corner probably still gives Tim nightmares.

I both detest and admire it at the same time. Terrific composure and an amazing finish as any lower and it gets headed away. Mexico was better that day.

Now if on Sunday we beat them with a team of fringe players, heads will probably roll in Mexico. The way Turner is playing, we have a chance, but I’ll likely be betting on Mexico.

I hated it, but I loved it at the same time. It summed up the entire match in just a few seconds.

Heads usually roll in Mexico even when we beat them with a full strength XI. Small wonder, seeing how we had a president who publicly claimed that he was going to build a wall between our countries and then get them to pay for it.

I'd hate us, too, if I were them.

That's because they know a bunch of our people feel that way, and have felt that way for a long time. It's obvious, given how those people treat them.

Mr. Orange was just the first person in power to vocalize how that subset of our population feels.
