Afternoon all. Can anyone please tell me why, when it was anything but crystal clear, did the linesman flag for offside against DCL when he was just about to put McNeil through 1 on 1 with the keeper early in the game? So instead of playing on and bringing it back if he was offside, he blew straight away. After showing the replay, he didn’t look offside at all and so we’d be 1-0 up if McNeil had slotted. This, on top of VAR ignoring the clear push for the goal. Can someone please tell me something to put my mind at rest and ensure me that the system is anything but completely and utterly bent?

I saw that and just thought it was the typically laughable application of the rules they apply when we play. They seem to use VAR as and when they please in the FA Cup just look at the Calvert-Lewin red card.

Was an absolute shocker. What makes me so cynical about it is the almost complete lack of questioning by the commentators. The chancer of a lino should’ve just let it run. If VAR found him offside, fine, (potential) goal scrubbed off. But he didn’t. He raised it immediately, something they’re told NOT to do. The ONE time they showed the replay (definitely 15 replays if it was a SLY SPORTS 6 team) Calvert Lewis looked onside. Absolutely bent.

I was thinking the same thing live. THey usually let the plays go on far too long. But on that through ball when they showed the replay I was shocked at how close it was - I mean definitely should have been one they let play on.
