i like to lightly toast them under the grill for burgers, like the 'arl fashioned wimpy used to do them before mcd's arrived on the scene.
i distinctly remember one at the end of the makinson arcade in wigan, near the old bus station, they also had a great selection of ice-cream desserts....knickerbocker glory, brown derby.

i don't care if they call them lunch muffins, although that can be a pleasant way to spend a lunchtime, if oscar wilde has them being served for tea in his play then that's conclusive enough for me.
