Emeka Ezeala: "Berti wanted to give him 90 minutes against Kenya to get him used to the African style and his team mates, and he was booked on a flight to arrive on Friday, But he wanted to come on Sunday and Berti said it would be of no use as he would not play him in a competitive match without seeing him in a friendly so he should not bother at all."
Victor Anichebe: "There was a complete mix-up with the travel arrangements," he said. "I was originally told that my arrival time would be Sunday and that surprised me because of the timings of the first game.
"I was then told that I had to fly via Germany to arrive in Nigeria on the Friday but that call came far too late for me to do anything about it. At no point have I indicated that I would not be willing to play in any friendly matches."
