Which may be true.

Anyway those lot have a habit of turning decent Southampton defenders into liabilities.

Maybe so, but I doubt it would be much help in the long run.
 

Firstly don't know why this player has a thread.. secondly I don't respect any player that doesn't give 100% through the contract period. Even if you don't want to sign an extension and want to leave you contracted yourself to serve the team for the period you signed for. If you didn't believe you could fulfill that then you should not have signed.

Not professional.. wouldn't touch . Perfect for that lot!

Never know until you try mate, IF your smart enough with the PR about the bid, it's possible to make it VERY awkward for the rs to come in for the player.

Actually think this has happened far earlier than they'd have liked myself, think they would have preferred more time between what happened and the issue coming to a head.

Then you read the reports differently than i did mate, basically the same situation really, only we haven't been shown and had to admit to tapping a player up

I believe he was given assurances he could leave if a big bid was received (over 32m). Obviously the transfer goalposts have changed in regards fees. I don't like to see any player behave poorly to their employer. That was another reason I was so pleased to sign Keane. He is not just a great player but comes across as a very honourable lad too.
 
Southampton deserve everything they get, pathetic club.
They had an opportunity to make a stance against "tapping" up and letting the bigger clubs to know that future behaviour will be reported and resisted.

They chose to cower to LFC and accept a half hearted apology with no substance and not pursue what the industry needed, someone to stop this illegal approach.

They deserve everything they get..... Player power and a big sign for clubs to take whatever they want

Salah is a good player, but I don't think he gives them anything they didn't already have last season

Van Dijk is a different kettle of fish - arguably the best centre back in the league, doesn't really seem to have a weakness in his game other than the occasional mad foray up the left wing or whatever

He'd be potentially game-changing for them

Only glad they decided to keep faith with Mignolet
