The missus has it on her new laptop. I preferred XP to be honest. Plus for one reason or another I couldn't load our printer software onto it (HP Laserjet 1320).

My verdict is that it's rubbish. You simply can't beat OSX in my view.

Don't do it mate. Use XP as any printer, scanner etc. may not work as even some of the bigger companys haven't brought out updated drivers for Vista. I had to wait over a year to get one for my HP laserjet 1600 printer. I'd just use XP till Windows 7 comes out and then update if I was buying a PC now tbh.

You can't mate, but unfortunately I need to use Windows for IE testing.

System comes with Vista pre-installed. I have XP SP3 on an OEM disk, so I could install that I suppose.

So in other words, Microsoft introduced a system that wouldn't work with a lot of software applications.

It's ugly as well.

There is already a free Beta version of windows 7 on Microsoft's website but i'm not sure where they are in regards to drivers and the like on that but it's meant to be a lot more stable than Vista

Well i've never used it, so to not want to be ****ged as an Apple Fanboy, I will see how it fairs.

However, I did notice it had the dock effect that the OSX released - so my expectations are not anything different. But if it lets me test IE, oh and play Sim City 4 with no lag, then its a must buy.
