Player Valuation: £50m
"Manchester City have signed their third player of the day with the £8million capture of Brazil midfielder Elano from Shakhtar Donetsk."

17 million pounds spent in one day!!

8 players signed so far in pre season with another bulgarian striker coming tomorrow for another 6 million.

they are going to be unrecognisable from last season.

unlikely.

they are buying the champions league. they have the league pretty much sewn up. their squad has two good first teams in it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I hope you are joking or thought this thread was about man utd. hahahaha

Teppic: I respect your opinions on this forum, although I frequently disagree with them. Man. City's signings have been OK, better than some in terms of value for money, but still overpaid in total. And they will still finish several places lower than us in the league.

You may dream of their signings. Me, I just dream of November when we have both vaughan and Timmy back - just watch us then.

hmmm.. i was not so much drooling over the personnel city have brought in. and to be honest i have no idea if they will play well or are indeed over priced as i have not heard of most of them. although Elano is a regular in the brazil squad and for 8 million it sounds about right for value for money to me.

i was more lamenting that we can only dream about spending 17 million in a day or 35 million over the summer transfer period.

i also dream of vaughn and cahill coming back in november as both are goal getting players. lets hope by then we are still in the mix.

Yeah, I think 8 million for Elano was good business. Less than Villa paid for Reo-Coker and a much better player IMO. But again, I suspect the wages are as much of a factor as the up front fee in our relative lack of activity. Still, we can always hope that the minimal ins and outs will strengthen our already formidable team spirit and on-field cohesiveness, while the converse holds true for Citeh, Barcodes, Spurs, etc.

wait till their owner goes to jail and his assets are seized and sold.... yes the team!

I know a few city fans who are seriously thinking this could happen.
