Strong winds, but what sort of mph gusting? Probably in excess of this and with added conditions like rain?

The wind speed was around 60 mph if I recall correctly, and there wasn’t heavy rain, i cannot even remember it raining at all tbh.

It made sense to me to call it off this morning . I appreciate the inconvenience to people travelling but if they’d pulled it last night and the storm hadn’t been as bad or missed us they’d have been hammered.

Was half way there when I got the call to say it was off. Where I was it was calm and blue sky. So spun round and now home after a 3 hour round trip to wetherby services

Won’t get to come to the rearranged game so a bit disappointed but peoples safety comes first.

There is a bit of molly-coddling over this, I suppose. A few years ago this goes ahead. But we saw a fan of ours taken against Leicester many years back and you have to put yourself in the position of his family if this storm warning was ignored by football authorities.

On a football level it's a shame. I fancied our chances there today: they had decent players ruled out and the conditions would have robbed them of a lot of their technical advantage. I mean, we can beat them when all things are equal too like, but I also think they've not fancied it today on the back of a late equaliser and dropping points at Newcastle and they knew if they'd dropped points today their lead in the table would have been very very narrow by the end of this weekend.

Liverpool gain from this postponement more than we do.

Nah. Think the fixture pile up will do them in.

If it's rescheduled for Feb for example they'll have something like PSV, Bournemouth, the derby away, before Wolves at home then City away. With an FA Cup tie.

They'll be playing every 3 to 5 days from January to March

Five of us here. Four on short flight from Belfast, but one flew Denver to Amsterdam, Amsterdam to Liverpool. His mate from Denver also travelled for the game.
